Newcastle All Blacks was established in 1978 being the first Aboriginal rugby league club in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and Hunter Regions.
Newcastle All Blacks was established and managed by a well known, respected and successful family group of Smith's / Briggs and many cousins. The aim of the club was to provide an opportunity for family and Aboriginal people in Newcastle and surrounding regions to actively participate in local rugby league, NSW Koori Knockout plus many other sporting events.
Over the years Newcastle All Blacks has expanded providing other program and service across Aboriginal culture for the advancement of Aboriginal people, communities and reconciliation.

Newcastle All Blacks are one of the most successful Aboriginal Sporting Clubs across the state of NSW and continue to get stronger and be more successful across a range of sporting events with the inclusion of our next generation.
